Where's the outrage??

Is anyone as stressed out as I am about the economy? I've been mad about it all week! All of it! Gas prices. Grocery prices. Government bailouts. Obama's tax plan. McCain's tax plan. The stock market. It all makes me so mad. But what makes me even madder is that no one seems to really care! Where's the outrage? Yeah, we gripe to our spouses about gas prices and grocery prices. And we complain to people at work about how bad our portfolios look and what a wreck the financial system is. But what are we doing about it? Writing our Congressman? Marching on Washington? Nope. We are not doing a darn thing. That's what. We've all gotten too caught up in our own little lives to actually give a crap about the country we live in!! How sad is that? We are all more worried about who was the worst dressed at the Emmys or who got kicked off "Dancing with the Stars"!! It's really disgusting.
Our government and the financial industry have been grossly irresponsible. And who are we all betting ($700 billion) on to fix it? THE GOVERNMENT! What??? Since when do we ask the burglar to change our locks on his way out? Not only that...but why are we writing the guy a check for any expenses he incurred while robbing us blind!! Our children will be paying for this mess until they are 30 years old!!
So when are we going to wake up? When will we finally "get it"? When will we finally start to care? When we are all standing in line as the government hands us our rations?
