Am I the ONLY one???

I'm starting to believe that I am the ONLY woman who thinks Valentine's day is ridiculous! I cannot stand Valentines. I sold out my principles this year and bought my kids Valentine candy. That's a first. The marketers in corporate America have gotten them! My precious babies! Now, even they, think they are supposed to give or receive candy on this wretched day!
Britt did not get me anything. Not even a card. He knows better. I don't know if he even said "Happy Valentine's Day". Probably not.
If he is going to give me a card, or candy, or flowers I'd rather him buy it on some random day in April when it's raining (for example). Just some day when he passes by something he think I'd like (like Reese's eggs at Easter. oooh!) Because it's from the heart. Because he was being thoughtful. Not because some commercial on TV tells him that he's supposed to buy me something on February 14th. I don't want him to be thinking on his way home "Dang, I've got to get Courtney something." Then running in the drugstore and buying the first thing he sees that reads "To my Wonderful Wife..." Puhleeeze!

I'll have to say that I LOVED my tulips from my hubby! :) Here's what Ellie had to say abouot Valentine's Day:

I asked her what the best part of her day was...she said getting her tulip from her Daddy

I asked her what the worst part of her day was...she said smelling the tulip Daddy gave her

Boy, it's hard to be a tulip! You look beautiful but you really STINK!!

I love you even if you don't love V-Day!

Of course I buy the kids something on Valentine's Day but it may not be candy. Jeremy and I don' t necessarily do anything unless we choose too. This year nada, last year maybe a card. No rhyme or reason. I buy things all the time and suprise the kids and Jeremy and Valentine's Day is no different than any of the other days I tell them how much I love them. Anyhow TTYL Love ya LNZ
