Greetings from the laundromat!

Have you ever had so much dirty laundry piled up that you felt the need to attach a rope to yourself before walking into the laundry room for fear that you'd never be heard from again? Death by dirty laundry....what a way to go!
Well. That is exactly how I felt this morning. My laundry is always behind, but not THIS behind! When your husband yells down the stairs, "Do I have any clean socks down there?" you know you have a problem. The real prob
lem is that I HATE doing the laundry! I've tried to tell myself to be thankful for the family I have that wears these clothes that I have the PRIVILEGE of washing. Does that really work for anybody? If so, please leave a comment and tell me what I'm doing wrong!
So, I just kept looking into the abyss that is my laundry room....waiting for the clothes to put themselves into the washer & dryer.....(ever done that? I thought so.) But, like always, nothing happened.
After many minutes, ok hours, of deliberation I decided
that I was loading all that mess up and driving it to the laundromat! I rationalized that my labor cost x 8 hours of washing, plus electricity would equal about the same amount as my labor cost x 2 hours of washing, plus the price of washing & drying at the laundromat. More or less..
So, after putting all of that 4th grade math word problem together, I headed down here.
I've only been to a laundromat one time before. A couple of years ago my dryer broke and I had to go to one. This trip is entirely by choice, that and fantastic math skills! For those of you who live in Jacksonville, there is a new laundromat on Gayle Ave. behind Landers Auto Something-or-other. It's quite nice. Even has WiFi. And a really cute little snack, drink machine, where I had my lunch....a Diet Coke and a Snickers. What every busy mom needs!
Hang on, washers are finished. We have proceeded to drying! WooHoo! 8 loads washed in 30 mins! I bet a stay-at-home mom created laundromats!
Anyway. I am thoroughly enjoying my laundry duty today. Just a change of scenery.
Ok. Took a break to talk on the phone. My laundry is dry!!!
8 loads washed, dryed, folded, and hung up in 2 hours! How fabulous is that? Now if I could only find an easier way to put it up......

  1. You crack me up! I have to hand it to you, though! I'm glad you got it caught up.
