At Home Sick

Well, after a glorious Sunday, Carlie woke up really sick yesterday morning. My Littlest Love had a fever of 104! Bless her heart, she was pale with flushed cheeks and lips and trembling all over. I don't know if she has ever been so sick (or if I have been so scared!).
We went to the doctor where they checked her for mono, strep, flu, and pneumonia. All came back negative, except mono. We will find out the results of that tomorrow. The doctor seems to think that is what she has. Her lymph nodes in the front and back of her throat are insanely enlarged! She also has an ear infection and while she doesn't have pneumonia, she has [insert big doctor word here], which means her lungs are VERY congested especially her right one. The x-rays showed a big hazy spot in there.
Needless to say, I have one very sick little girl.
The doctor is keeping her home until Thursday, provided that the mono comes back negative. If positive, we will be camped out on the couch watching Space Buddies non-stop until Monday! : )
Please remember my Carlie Bug in your prayers. She has no appetite. She has only eaten about a cup of rice since dinner Sunday night. She is drinking well. I just can't get her to eat. It's so hard to watch my baby be so sick. We know that God is the Great Physician and that He is hard at work in our little girl!

  1. Sorry to hear that your little princess is sick! I hate to say it, but it sounds like mono. I had it once. I too, had no appetite. I ate grilled cheese and watermelon. It is all I craved. I only ate that after my dad woke me and said,"If you do not eat this we are going to the hopital. You can have a worse sore throat with it than strep. I ran the 104 fever too. No medicine seems to work. Once you have mono, you are always a carrier. It has to do with your spleen and liver, I think. the fevers can be crazy and she may hallucinate. She HAS to drink with the fever or she will get dehydrated and make the fever worse. It is common to feel really tired and achey. She will not be able to do any strenuous play for a while. It was over a month for me and took a while before I felt like anything. Expect her to be whiney and cry alot. I was a teenager and all I wanted was my mommy! lol. I pray that it is something less involved. I think that it takes about 6-8 weeks to develop symptoms, so think back to if she was around anyone with strep-like symptoms a few weeks ago. I heard in Bible study that you had to miss your appt. and will be going tomorrow. I will be praying for all of your medical stuff going on in your family. Remember us, we will be doing 1yr old shots while you are papping. lol I had rather hold down a 1 yr. old!!!!!!!! We missed you at the study today.
