Tonight Carlie was going to a sleepover at her friend Gillian's. Gillie turned 7 yesterday. So she invited 6 girls to come spend the night. Carlie couldn't wait! She has only been to one sleepover before. Luckily, Gillian doesn't live far from us, so it won't be a big deal if we have to go get Miss Carlie. Carlie was so excited about going. She packed her own bag around 2:00 this afternoon and has been sitting on go ever since!
I just dropped her off about an hour ago. When we pulled up Carlie realized that Gillian's big brother was there. (He is Cam's age) Carlie rolled her eyes and said "Oh, great." Trying to make Carlie feel better, I told her that he wouldn't bother her. I was sure that his mom had a friend come over to play with him so that he wouldn't be bored or aggravate the girls. (hey, I've got a 9 yr old boy too. I know how it works!)
After a moment of thought Carlie replied, "I hope it's not _____. He is such a nerd bomb". WHAT? What the heck is a "nerd bomb"? I asked her where in the world she heard that. She said she wasn't sure who she heard say that, but that _____ definitely was one! I give up.
Exactly when did my 6 year old turn into a preteen? I try so hard to keep her little. Her vocabulary is very grown up. Now she is even using teenage slang. Atleast this is one time when she cannot say "You say it all the time, mama."!
