Britt and I thought our "garage possum" story was over. As it turns out, that possum was more clever than we thought.
If you will notice in my first post about the possum I said "after a few minutes we decided it was gone".
Famous last words....
Today Britt decided he was going to drive the Jeep to the ball field. After all, it was beautiful outside today.
A few weeks ago, we had a couple of warm days. I had taken the windows out of the Jeep and drove it. I never put them back in.
So today Britt decided the Jeep needed vacuuming before he took it out.
My mom's boyfriend, Jeff, was here. He was out in the garage helping Britt clean up the Jeep. While Britt was getting the shopvac ready, Jeff started getting trash out of the floorboards. He reached into the back floorboard to pick up a sheet of paper. When he, THAT POSSUM CAME RUNNING OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT!!!!!!!
Y'all, I'm telling you what. If that possum had come running out when I was reaching back there I would have died of cardiac arrest! The scared little possum darted out of the Jeep and across the garage floor. First he went behind some collapsed boxes we have in the garage (hopefully we are moving soon). Britt and Jeff moved the boxes and Jeff shooed the possum out with some kind of broom, only to have the little monster run behind the fridge!!! They finally moved the fridge and they both shoved the possum out the garage door. Britt said the possum just did not want to leave. Makes me worry that there might be little possums living in the garage somewhere!!
Now atleast we know he is out of our garage!
I couldn't be more thankful that I was safely in the house when all of this transpired!
I just can't stop thinking that I almost drove the Jeep yesterday! The only reason I didn't is because I was in a hurry and didn't want to move the things I had to have from my Expedition to the Jeep! Y'all, if I had been driving down the road and that little booger crawled out from under that seat.....I don't even know what I'd have done. Probably have ended up in a ditch! Or the hospital! Or even the morgue!!!
Britt said there is no way he was in there very long. There was no signs that he had been. No poop. There were sunflower seeds in the cup holder and he had not touched them or chewed on anything in the car.
Hopefully this is the end of our possum experience. If not, I'll make you a real good deal on a house.......
