Update on Ronnie....

First, I want to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers the past few weeks. Yesterday I took the kids to visit their Paw in the hospital. We told them about the cancer and they handled it very well. They understand a little, I think.
Ronnie started his first round of chemo today. It's 10:00 and he hasn't had any sickness. Pray that continues!
Last night, the oncologist came in and talked with our family. He said that while Ronnie does have small cell lung cancer, and the tumor is inoperable, he feels really good about it. The type of tumor Ronnie has is supposedly very responsive to chemo. He has to take chemo three days a week every three weeks. He will take radiation 4 days a week every week. The doctor said that by the time R
onnie comes back for his third chemo treatment that the tumor should be half the size it is now. By the time he comes back for his check up after the fourth treatment the doctor expects the tumor to be gone. He said that this is the case in 40% of tumors like Ronnie's. And considering Ronnie's good health, the isolated tumor and still healthy weight and appetite he feels like Ronnie should be in that 40%. Lord willing he's right! Britt asked what were the chances that another tumor could develop during the treatment. The doctor said it was a possibility, but only about a 5% chance.
We ask that you continue praying for Ronnie's health and peace and strength for our family.Carlie loved hanging out with Paw at the hospital. Between the food (yuck!) and all those fascinating buttons on the bed, Carlie never wanted to leave!!! She begged us to let her spend the night with Paw!

Thank you again. We love you all.

Courtney
