Ok. Chased that rabbit far enough.
When I got home from taking Cam to baseball practice Tuesday night, my sweet little Carlie was busy as a bee loading the dishwasher. The Littlest Love had unloaded it. All the clean dishes were strewn about the countertop. She asked me to open the Cascade for her, which I did. She closed the dishwasher and turned it on. Our lives continued for the next hour of dinner, bath, and bedtime. As I headed the kids up the stairs it occurred to me that the dishwasher was running. I had forgotten about it. I went back to the kitchen to check the load of dishes. I meant to do it earlier. I was afraid there would be something on the bottom rack melting into the bottom of the dishwasher! I opened the door and this is what I found.

That sweetheart! She did a fabulous job on the top rack. But Britt and I laughed so hard at the pot on the bottom! Dirty dish water was just running off the top of it. Bless little Carlie's heart. She tried. I will never tell her it was upside down. I just flipped the pot over and let the cycle continue. When I went back up to tuck her in, I thanked her for helping Mommy with the dishes. She replied, "Mommy, I know that is one of the hardest things you have to do everyday.". God love that child! She truly is thoughtful.

Britt and I stay up until around 11:30. As we were ready to head up to bed I began turning off lamps, checking doors, and started the dishwasher. Britt was standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting on me to finish. (Imagine that). He looked at me funny and said "What's that noise?". I didn't hear anything. But I was across the kitchen. He listened intently. Then he got this funny look on his face and said "There is something in our garage.". I asked if the door was closed. He said it was. (In recent weeks the door has been left open and our neighbors' cat has gotten in the garage.) I moved over toward Britt and listened too. We could hear something rustling around. Finally, I said "just turn on the light!". We did and then we both cracked up laughing! There was a POSSUM in our recycle bin!!!!!

He's really kinda cute...in a disgusting, creepy crittery, kinda way. He finally spooked and took off out of the recycle bin. I was just about to snap a picture when he bolted. Here is how it turned out.....

My brave husband grabbed a flashlight, opened the garage door, and proceeded to stomp his feet like an idiot and shine his light under the cars and shelves. After a few minutes we decided he was gone. We closed the doors and went to bed.
So, if you come by the house and the garage door is down do not assume that I am not home. I'm just possum-proofing from now on.......

lol Funny story Courtney! Those possums are some MEAN critters! My dad (being the eternal Country Boy) trapped one in their backyard. Their backyard is all trees and a creek and stuff, so they have a lot of critters! He was showing how mean they are by poking at it with a broom handle. It would hiss and carry on like a mad wife! He let it go after that, but man was the redneck experience fun! "Hey! Watch this!" lol
Never a dull moment at the Coleman house! :) Carlie is too sweet to help out! Logan had a blast yesterday. Thanks for letting him stay while I took Lauren for her allergy shots. :)
