A short trip

As soon as my children woke up this morning, something reminded them of a place called McWane Center in Birmingham. Carlie has never been, but Cam and I went last year on a school field trip. The place is really alot of fun. Lots of hands on, physical science stuff. And there is an IMAX theatre, which is really cool.
But.
They started this "Campaign for McWane" (as I am so lovingly calling it) around 9:45 this morning. Cam has baseball practice this afternoon at 4:30. It takes about and hour and a half to get there.
Did I mention we were all still in our pjs when this started? So we would get to Birmingham around noon, then have to be back at 4:30, giving us 3 hours to play and eat lunch and see an IMAX movie.
Not happening.
So the drama ensued.
I have promised the kids that we will go tomorrow. Leaving early in the morning. Chances are we won't have practice to get back to either! Much better plan, Mom! Yeah, only that is not exactly what my little "dears" were saying.....
So I caved. I mean, I compromised......just so they'd HUSH!
I promised that we could go to Nocallula Falls today because it is MUCH closer. We could go play and be home in plenty of time for practice. Cam jumped on the deal. (he knows a bargain when he sees one!) Carlie, the little angel, said "But I want to go to the Oxford Park!"
Not happening.
So the drama ensued.
The children began arguing each of their positions. They continued to argue for their choice and against the other sibling's.
I just walked away and let them. (Mother of the Year? You're too kind.)
Finally, they realized I was missing......or just decided they needed me to hear their positions!! So, still arguing, they ran up the stairs yelling, "Mom! Where are you?". I didn't answer, but they found me anyway. (Gotta learn to get into that attic space faster!) They both started arguing again, pausing only long enough to say "WHERE ARE WE GOING???"
To which I replied (in Mother of the Year fashion) "Crazy!!!! Wanna go? It's going to be a short trip!!"
