Meet Bentley, our new baby boy! He's an 8 week old Chinese Crested Powder Puff (whew, that's a mouthful). We've been looking at these puppies for awhile. This breed is supposedly good for allergy sufferers. They shed little, and have almost no pet dander. Cam has been snuggling him ALL day and hasn't sneezed once! So I guess we are good! I certainly hope so, I don't think I could give him back!!!
We took this pic outside a grocery store when we stopped to let Bentley potty.

We decided on this little guy after looking at HUNDREDS of these puppies online in 4 states! We drove to a kennel in Birchwood, Tennessee today and picked Bentley up. Of course, the kids fought all the way home over who was going to hold him. I heard the phrase "you're a dog hogger!" more than once!!!!
These Chinese Cresteds are an unusual breed. Some of them are HAIRLESS!!! I personally like the very fluffy ones! The dogs are referred to as CC Hairless and CC Powder Puffs. You can breed two Powder Puffs and some of the pups will be hairless. I think it's called "a spontaneous genetic mutation". But don't hold me to it. I'm sure you can Google it! According to the AKC their ears are supposed to stick up.....but I like them floppy. When we got Bentley he had tape on his ears. Of course, Carlie had it pulled off before we got out of the breeders' driveway! So his ears are still poking out in these pics. His ears are already floppier.
So far, he's been perfect. No accidents in the car or the house! Britt and I are hoping this isn't a fluke!
Let's just hope he doesn't whine all night!!!

Alright, I guess I'll let you slide this time for not getting one of our puppies...given the whole allergy thing! =)
Bentley sure is cute...I hope Ethan and Ellie don't smoosh him come August. Ethan is still afraid of dogs so he will probably stay FAR away! =)
Miss you! We should take the kids and eat lunch one day!
cute new addition courtney! we had two kitties and one of them went to be with the Lord and the other found a new home when bryce came along. he was sneezing alot and we were not sure if it was "new baby" sneezing or an allergy. it was hard to let her go! we are better off for it and the new owners really wanted her. we will probably never do the "inside" pet thing again. it is too much work for us! we do miss our little "babies" though.
