Show Us Your Life--Favorite Vacation Spot

I've posted about this before, but.....

This week on Show Us Your Life by Kelly's Corner is "Favorite Vacation Spot".

Mine is Costa Rica, hands down!!
!

My entire family LOVES the Guanacaste Region of Costa Rica. The beaches (or playas) Tamarindo, Brasilito, Flamingo, and Grande are some of the most beautiful in the world!!! We also traveled across the country to the city of La Fortuna to see the active volcano Arenal.

We would love to retire there one day! It's definitely in our long term plans!

This is the amazingly beautiful view from our bedroom balcony at our condo in Playa Flamingo

We did some mission work when we were there last summer. It is heart wrenching to see people living in such poverty.

Believe it or not this a main road to Playa Brasilito! The kids were out hunting crabs after the rain.
Folks these ain't no Gulf Shores, AL crabs!!!!
LOOK!
We went in-shore fishing. We caught the tuna, wahoo, and mahi mahi that Britt goes on 2-day trips from Orange Beach to catch!

This was taken on Playa Tamarindo one morning. Isn't it beautiful? This is the beach where parts of the old surfing moving "Point Break" with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reaves was filmed.
(Leave it to me to throw some American pop culture into a remote, secluded beach!)

This was also in Tamarindo at a fab.u.lous restaurant on the beach called "Lola's".
Britt, Cam and Carlie are standing next to the restaurant's name sake! That HUGE pig is named Lola! Y'all I have lived in Alabama all my life....I ain't never seen a pig that big!

I cannot believe I am actually sharing this photo considering that lovely blue helmet I'm sporting! But we ziplined through the tree tops of the rainforest.
By far one of the most exhilierating things I've ever done!

There are actually several pictures of me! Which is unsual since I'm always behind the camera! But on the zipline a pro photographer zips in front of you....facing backward! It's the only way to get a shot...considering you are 40-80 feet off the ground!

Here's my daredevil baby girl! After watching the guides do tricks (the guides have to go along with you to move you from line to line through the forest) Carlie decided she wanted to hang upside down like they did. She was only 6 at the time. I didn't think she'd do it, but she yelled "Tally Ho!" and let go and dropped upside down!!

My handsome little man climbing up one of the platforms to another line.

We also went on an offroad tour. We got muddy! Our guide came on the radio as we were about to go through the last mudhole and said "Make Alabama proud!"

I think we did!!

Hope you enjoyed looking!

We will definitely be going back to Costa Rica....soon!

Head over to Kelly's Korner blog to see everyone elses!
You might just pick out your next vacation spot!
