Part of me is excited. We will be back on a structured schedule. Part of me is bummed because we are back on that schedule! I'm thrilled that I can go to the gym every morning after dropping the kids off at school. I've gained 8 lbs since May. Their days are numbered! Again, I'm bummed because I can no longer say "I feel guilty having the kids spend their summer at the gym's daycare." I'm all out of excuses. I love being able to get in our playroom and CLEAN IT OUT!!! Adios fast food kids meal toys!!!! I love the free time I have, whether to cook dinner, grocery shop alone, get my nails done, or just blog uninterrupted! But I miss my kids. I watch the clock, just waiting for 2:00PM to roll around so I can head out to car rider line.
Honestly, I would love to home school them. They aren't interested. What is wrong with them?? I would have jumped at the chance when I was their age!
So, to school we go. I dread seeing 6:00 AM's torturous face on my clock again. I haven't missed that horrendous time! I dread hearing my alarm clock's annoying honk again. I dread dragging two sleepy children out of bed and trying to get them dressed and fed and out the door on time.
By Thursday morning those two children of mine will be begging for home school! By then, I'll laugh and taunt them saying "I tried, you said no. So, sorry Charlie." Then I'll finish drying my newly manicured nails, and wonder why I ever thought about homeschooling and giving up my daytime freedom!
I just found these photos on my computer. So I had to share. Here's a look back at Cam's (now a 4th grader) and Carlie's (now a 2nd grader) first day of Kindergarten and Preschool, respectively.
Oh. These photos make me incredibly sad. My babies have grown up so quickly!Honestly, I would love to home school them. They aren't interested. What is wrong with them?? I would have jumped at the chance when I was their age!

I love this last picture. Look at Carlie dancing in the background. Hilarious!!
Yes. That is a store bought cookie cake. It wasn't until the next year that I started making this fabulous school bus cake. My children demand it! I'll be making in while they are at school Monday!
I'll post the recipe for y'all tomorrow. Because that's the kind of gal I am!
