Honey....I'm home!!!
We got home from Las Vegas around 8:30 PM on Friday night. We had a really good time. Worked lots, but played lots too! My brother and his long time girlfriend got married while we were there!! I took lots of pictures. You'll be seeing those soon.......by soon I mean probably within the next week. Probably.
Right now I'm just trying to catch up. On everything! My blog. Laundry. Housework. Hugs from my ninos! New TV shows. Emails. Just everything.
I went to the grocery store earlier today. Just to get the things we need for the week. Snacks, lunchbox items, breakfast and dinner. I also bought a candle. I'm in LOVE with the new Febreze Home Collection reed diffusers, room spray, and now candles in the "cranberry pear" scent. I'm usually picky about smells. I absolutely loathe cheap smelling room spray. Ugh. Or plug ins that smell like the dollar store. Not that I don't L.O.V.E. the dollar store. I just prefer my house not to smell like it! But this Febreze stuff smells heavenly! Give it a sniff next time you are in Walmart! But be warned that Febreze is proud of this stuff!!! One diffuser is like $9!! But it smells wonderful....and lasts a long time (unless my mom is here....but that's a different post all together)
Anyway. Back to "I also bought a candle." I did. And I couldn't wait to light it. Except. We have no lighters. We aren't smokers, so we don't ever have little pocket lighters. But I usually keep the candle lighters. I used to have a red one and a blue one. Both in the kitchen. Except. I have children. Children who love to build campfires out back with the neighborhood kids. So I have no lighters. So my candle will just sit there until another day. A day when I remember to buy a lighter. My new candle may be sitting there awhile!
Why is it that things like that are never to be found in a house with children? Remember that Dr. Seuss book "In a People House"? I should write one called "In this Mama's House". In this house there are no lighters. Trash in the can with no bag. Half drank Gatorade bottles....usually 4 or 5 of them. Candy wrappers stuffed between the couch cushions. Many many mismatched socks. DVDs in the wrong cases. Toothpaste dried in the sink bowl. No Scotch tape. NEVER. EVER. is there any Scotch tape!! Clothes are 2 feet from the hamper. And we can never find a sharpened pencil.
I'm sure I could make that all rhyme if I tried. But I'm still a little jet lagged. The true test comes tomorrow morning when my alarm clock rings at 6:00AM. That's 4AM in Vegas. I may be getting the ninos off to school then coming home for a nap!!
Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!
By the way......ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!

I can never find my scissors or any Scotch Tape! I hide my lighters up where the kids can't reach, so I still have those. I buy Scotch Tape in bulk, yet I never have any when I need it. If I threaten my kids long enough, some tape will magically appear on the counter - along with my scissors.
You should so write the book! Every mom can relate! :)
You could even do the book as a collection of essays...
the lighters are no prob around here i prob have 400 and I still have about 40 of the matchbooks from our wedding.
Tape yes I would like to know if there is some tape graveyard it hides in. The half drunk bottles around here are either formula or bug juice...depending on the kids and I am so 3with ya on the candy wrappers in the couch.
